Mother Nature can be so unpredictable sometimes – after all, we live in the UK, don’t we? However, we won’t let a little bad weather spoil your plans for an amazing dog portrait session.
In reality, with modern technology and weather forecasts being more accurate than ever, it’s rare that we have to cancel a session on the day. Rest assured, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecasts in the run-up to your session, to ensure we have the best chance of capturing those beautiful memories of your four-legged family member.
I’ll do a weather check 24 hours before our agreed time and If it looks too hot or wet for us all to have a great time, we’ll simply reschedule for a day when the weather is more suitable.
Whilst nobody really wants to have to endure conditions that are unpleasant, there are occasions when some rain can be just perfect. Take Amber and Bailey, for example. A few years ago, I had the pleasure of doing a portrait session with them on a rainy day. We knew they would love the rain, so I think we would have been disappointed if the conditions had been dry.
As it turned out, there was a lot of water! As predicted, they didn’t shy away from the rain but embraced it with full positivity! They splashed and ran through the mud and water like they were in doggy heaven.
At one point I found myself crouched in the water with them and couldn’t help but laugh and be amazed by their infectious energy. I knew that I was in the middle of creating some truly unique and memorable photos that perfectly captured their personalities.
After all, isn’t that what we’re trying to achieve during a portrait session – to capture the essence of our furry friends and their personalities?
So, if the weather isn’t suitable for your dog’s photoshoot, don’t worry. We’ll simply reschedule for a better day. The process is simple and ensures that we can go out, have some fun, and create beautiful portraits of your dog.
